The Alston League

The Alston League is dominated both in terms of numbers and technologically by the world of Alston itself. With ten billion sophonts Alston boasts ninety-five percent of the League total population. The next most populous world, Chaldea with four hundred million accounts for only a little under four percent of the total.

As expected from its dominant position in the League, the Leagues capital is the planet Alston. A number of government agencies though have been moved from Alston. For example the Leagues naval academy has been established at Chaldea.

Politically the Alston League is nominally a representative democracy. However member worlds are allowed to maintain their own local systems and as such the structure is more like a Federation.
