The government of the Czarate of Delsun is currently based around the charismatic dictator Czar Pietor II. This government structure flows through all systems which are part of the Czarate. The Czar is in theory an absolute ruler, however he does have to take into account the wishes of his governing council, which is divided into two parts. |

The Supreme Council is appointed by the Czar and makes up his innermost council. Senior ministers are as a result always members of the Supreme Council The Magistrates Assembly is open to anyone who has reached the rank of Magistrate. However Czar Pietor I placed quotas on the Assembly so that sixty percent of members are appointed by the Czar (usually on the recommendation of a minister, though not always). The remaining forty percent are from popular elections held under strictly supervised conditions from the pool of regional Magistrates. The Czarate Government is supported by a permanent public service divided into numerous departments, each headed by a permanent department head and a minister who is a member of the Supreme Council. Entry into the League public service is nominally by competitive examination and promotion in the beaurecracy is partially on merit, but a patronage system has been steadily gaining strength. |
