The Malak class is basically a class of large system defence boats. They are
classified as light monitors because of their low acceleration. When used
against merchants this is not normally a handicap but most warships are capable
of outrunning a Malak class vessel.
The class also shares many components with the Arkendra class corvettes. This
has eased maintenance concerns and is another reason why the Czarate of Delsun
still operates a number of these vessels in the Arana system, where they were
built.
