The Alandon class of heavy fuel shuttle is a normal technological development of
the tech 11 Altron class heavy fuel shuttle. The Alandon fills the same mission
requirements as the older Altron class vessels but because of the technological
improvement are slightly better at their job than the Altrons.
Like the Altrons, the Alandon class vessels can be readily configured from
L-Hyd to dry cargo storage and can
carry the same volume in general stores when configured in this manner without
loss of performance. As a result Alandons have also found their way into use as
more general heavy shuttles and in-system bulk carriers.
