The Barracan class of heavy fighter can occasionly still be found within the
former territories of the Imperium and client states. Built to TL12 standards
the fighter had reasonable endurance but was considered a little weak in the
armament area. Its principal weapon, a 50Mj laser lance was adequate against
lightly armoured opponents but could not penetrate the armour on many other
fighter types in service.
Barracan squadrons were sometimes carried on board imperial battleships and
older fleet carriers, and they were able to use the standard 50dt capacity
launch tubes.
