The Kinunir class colonial cruiser (more properly a destroyer escort) was unpopular when first built in the Spinward Marches, primarily as a result of poor quality control. As a result the initial production run was halted after only twenty examples were built. The design again became popular during the rebellion and was built in several sectors including the Solomani Rim. A large number were built by the Vegan Autonomous region and imperial yards in the region. As a result of virus it is believed that a number of examples of the class may have entered the Banners sector, and may be either still virus controlled or now operated by non Alston League forces. A rumour that some of this class may have black globe generators is not believed to be the case with any examples in the Banners sector.
