The Roland class tanker (missile) although it does carry some fuel for
refuelling other vessels is basically a smaller version of a Tanker Transport
(Dromedary) and may have provided input into the later design of that type. The
prime mission of the Roland is a general resupply ship for smaller cruiser and
assault squadrons.
In a Roland upto 100,000 standard missiles can be carried in magazines in
addition to 30,000 tons of stores and 170,491.7 kiloliters of liquid hydrogen
for refuelling, more if the ships own stores are included.
