The Black Rover class of fleet tanker were designed as a replacement and
development of older classes such as the Mogul Wanderer. They are capable of
fuel skimming but also carry a number of heavy fuel shuttles.
The Black Rover class has a designated fuel cargo tankage of 2,103,696.8
kliters which is less than both the TL12 Mogul Wanderer and the TL11 Appleleaf
class. This is largely because the Black Rover class are fitted with a jump-3
drive giving greater strategic flexibility at the expense of some loss of fuel
capacity.
