The Staton class general purpose shuttle was, like its bigger brother, the
Altron class heavy fuel shuttle, designed to be carried by the Appleleaf
class fleet tankers. Also like the larger Altrons examples are now found in
service at some starports and they are sometimes employed as an away boat for larger
vessels.
The Statons can be reconfigured to vary the amount of L-Hyd or dry cargo
carried. This has a marginal impact on drive performance, dropping from 2G to
around 1.9G under maximum load.
