One of several classes of armoured cruisers in service with frontline Solomani
units, the Madrids were one of the workhorse classes of the Confederation Navy.
None of the Madrids had commissioned in time to see service during the 1st Rim
War but never the less performed sterling service during the 2nd Rim War.
The Madrids were not as capable as the Imperiums TL15 Ghalalk class armoured
cruisers and tended to come off second best when facing them on equal terms.
Where heavy TL15 opposition was expected Madrids were generally placed in
reserve. As the war progressed many Madrids came to be assigned as heavy
escorts to Assault Squadrons.
