The Arafura subsector contains thirteen star systems. Prior to virus most of
these systems were underdeveloped and had quite low populations. Four systems
were part of the Woal Warliyir. One of these, Thalkharl, was a recent addition
to the Woal Warliyir and its predominantly human population was steadfastly
resisting integration.
After virus three systems were dead, and populations reduced still further on the already low populated worlds. It is likely that several more world will die having had their populations reduced beneath sustainable levels. But virus did manage to resolve the problem on Thalkharl, now called Petermann. The human population defeating the Woal Warliyir who found their equipment turning against them. |

| The Arafura (Thalkharl) subsector contains thirteen systems with, in 5635 AD (1117 Imperial) a total population of 231.64 million sophonts. The highest population level was 7 at Musgrave, Taree, Arafura, Cranbrook and Bonin, and the highest tech level was 13 found at Madison and Tlai'asta. In 5717 AD (1201 Imperial), the total population is 172.5 million sophonts, with the highest population level 7 at Musgrave, Arafura and Bonin, and the highest tech level 10 at Arafura. |
