The ten systems which make up the Gobi subsector make up a backwater of a
backwater sector. The subsector is notable in having the lowest incidence of
gas giants in the sector. In the ten systems there is a total of one gas giant,
at Far Oasis. Despite this the subsector had a relatively large population.
The onset of virus destroyed both inter-planetary and inter-stellar capacity throughout the subsector. Only Isolde at tech level 8 retaining some rudimentary capacity. | The Gobi subsector contains ten systems with, in 5635 AD (1117 Imperial) a total population of 95.1 billion sophonts. The highest population level was A at Far Oasis and Hera, and the highest tech level was 13 found at Hera. In 5717 AD (1201 Imperial), the total population is 15.1 billion sophonts, with the highest population level 9 at Hera and Pollphenus and the highest tech level 8 at Isolde. |
