In the chaos following virus, the Warliyi system collapsed into factions. Eventually with the loss of spaceflight capacity the in system colonies were either abandoned or died. The principle clan has and has always been the Woaleakh, itself an off-shoot of the Aslan Hierates Uiktawa and Hweolriya clans. Formed by a partnership between some of the more disgruntled Ihatei (Second sons), the partnership was so successful that when they were on the losing side of one of the Hierates political conflicts, that they completely broke away from the Hierate. Aslan from other clans joined them, but in more subservient positions. The collapse changed all that. The decendants of the original subservient groups blamed the Woaleakh and each other for the disaster and the once united Woal Warliyir of Warliyir splintered into large numbers of "clans" of which eighteen major ones currently exist. |
