Two colonies of Le Royaume des Etoiles du Cygne have so far been established in the GJ 1245 system, the principal one being the colony of Requin established in the GJ 1245C sub-system. The system was subject to a survey in 2500 with the navy taking a great deal of interest.

The navy lobbied for, and was given permission to establish both the Carnot and Requin naval facilities in the system and the two colonies are primarily support for the two co-located naval bases. Most naval training is now conducted within the system. In 2550 the colony of Requin was granted baronial status and a baron deRequin was appointed by the Royaule Council on Cygne. Carnot is expected to follow suit in the next few years.

Detailed exploration and surveys of the bodies in the system is continuing and several interesting compounds have been discovered occurring on Requin.
