The moon Serpiente is a full member of the Eridani Alliance despite its low population. The Alliance does maintain some facilities on the moon Serpiente but these are of minimal size.

Serpiente appoints one member to the Alliance Council who in the case of Serpiente is also the head of the local ruling family. Technically the government of Serpiente is a feudal technocracy with the head of the ruling family being titled the baron of Serpiente.

The population on Serpiente is low enough that local government functions are carried out by officials appointed by the baron of Serpiente on the recommendation of the citizenry.

Disputes can be brought before the baron of Serpiente though normally an appointed justice will oversee any cases. Like Pelayo and Beiro, Serpiente has a duelling culture, though not as strong as the other two worlds. Such duels as are fought here are normally only to "first blood" and some duels take the form of sporting contests rather than direct physical violence..
