Executive and legislative authority is vested directly in the Grand Duke of Grenadine with judicial authority vested in an elite council termed the Juidical Conclave.

The Grand Duke exercises his authority directly through his household staff and is also defact head of the military, while the judiciary is an independent body made up of professionals appointed for their expertise. The Grand Duke can and has nominated people to join this conclave and has had candidates both appointed and rejected by the judicial conclave.
