The star DX Cancri is a flare star around which orbit only two significant bodies. Of these only the outer most planet, Shenandoah is currently inhabited.

The system has only recently been added to the Sirius Trade Federation and all activity on Shenandoah, the designated main world, is regulated by the Hades Mining Corporation which is exploring the world for exploitable mineral wealth. No native life has so far been discovered but Hades is confident that numerous hydrocarbons may be found beneath the ice which covers the entire planet.
