The Procyon system is a young system of around 1.7 billion years old. The system is a binary in which one member has already become a white dwarf.

The system was not subject to a survey until 2525 when a Sirius Trade Federation vessel entered the system. The moon Ignatia of the gas giant Adeszten was selected as suitable for colonisation, Ignatia having been established to be a resource rich world. Ignatia also had locally evolved protazoan equivelant life forms present leading to much interest in potential sources of drugs, bioweapons etc.

In 2570 the Sirius Trade Federation established a significant naval base on Ignatia and forced the migration of tens of millions of people to settle the moon to exploit its resources. This resulted in an uprising in 2589 which was put down at great cost. It was this event which led to the Sirius Corporation becomming the largest corporation in the Sirius Trade Federation, largely at the expense of the Hades Mining Corporation which until the uprising had virtually sole administration of the Ignatia colony.

Ignatia is rated as a marginly Agricultural world, the agricultural products being produced within sealed environments in the colony habitats. No human, and little Earth eveolved life can exist unprotected on the surface of Ignatia.

All produce from Ignatia is shipped to feed the insatiable appetite of Sirius Major resulting in harsh local considtions. Investment in infrastructure is minimal and the local workers are beginning to grumble. The Sirius Trade Federation has answered this by moving several divisions of Federation marines to Ignatia. Several "incidents" have occurred between the marines and the civil population, but so far the marines have managed to keep a lid on the developing problems.

Technologically Ignatia has a largely stable tech level 10 base in most areas. However due to lack of infrastructure investment this is slipping against the technology of Sirius Major and it is becomming clear that Ignatia is viewed solely as a source of raw materials for Sirius Major.
