The moon Barnard Station is administered as a territory of the United Worlds Commonwealth. Actual administrative functions are limited to the solitary mining settlement, Barnard Station. UWC authority is represented by a Mining Survey Officer a small law enforcement detachment and a joint naval/scout service facility.

The moon is not entitled to any representatives on the Commonwealths Legislative Assembly having an insufficient permanent population to qualify for any seats.
