The moon Lyon is administered as a territory of the United Worlds Commonwealth. Actual administrative functions are presently limited to the single mining settlement of Lyon Station. UWC authority is represented by a single Mining Survey Officer and a small law enforcement detachment. The small naval facility attached to Lyon Station is administered as part of the armed forces of the United Worlds Commonwealth. The law enforcement detachment has no authority within the naval facility.

The moon is not entitled to any representatives on the Commonwealths Legislative Assembly having an insufficient permanent population to qualify for any seats.
