The Swordsman class light cruisers make up over seventy percent of the
Federations light cruiser strength.
With construction of newer cruisers running behind schedule the Sirius Trade
Federation
has decided to keep the Swordsman class in service longer than planned. To
assist in this as yard resources become available Swordsman are being rotated
for
extensive refits of electronics and secondary weapons systems. This has been
helped by the large amount of reserve power available to the vessels.
