The WESU upgrade of the Wasp class fleet carriers arose as a result of a
requirement of Le Royaume des Etoiles du Cygne for a platform for their
indigenous Starhawk class medium fighters. A number of these were also acquired
by the UWC. Their are a
number of minor differences between the UWC and Cygne vessels, primarily in
terms of the fighter mix. Cygne replacing the four heavy fighters found on UWC
vessels with a further six medium Starhawk fighters.
