The Hawkeye class of sensor sled was designed to provide associated units with additional sensor readings at a range greater than most vehicles normally are capable of. To this end the Hawkeye was fitted with both a 300km Radar and 300km passive thermal sensor. This makes the vehicle quite expensive but also capable of providing some early warning capability.
